Start from the vehicle record
The roadmap reads from ownership, identifiers, mileage, service history, inspections, and open recommendations, all traced back to the vehicle and its source record.
Read the due context
Maintenance groupings show what is due by mileage and interval. The technician's inspection and a current quote set the job.
Create the next action
The team turns the review into a task, reminder, or opportunity with the reason and vehicle attached. Outreach goes out consent-checked from the same record.
Publish the estimate
Estimate content publishes back to Shopmonkey through a dedicated write path the shop enables. The roadmap runs as a planning surface either way.
Worked example: planning a 90,000-mile visit
The roadmap reads the vehicle's mileage, service history, inspections, and open recommendations.
Maintenance groupings show what is due by mileage and interval, while the technician's inspection and a current quote set the actual job.
The team creates a task or opportunity with the reason and vehicle attached, and outreach goes out consent-checked.
Checklist: reading a roadmap
Keep derived due items and real recommendations straight.
- Mileage is current enough to trust the due items
- Due items come from service history and inspections, not guesses
- The next action names a vehicle and a reason
- Publishing an estimate back to Shopmonkey is a separate, enabled step
Common questions
Does VehicleDesk schedule maintenance automatically?
No. The roadmap shows what is due from the record. The team decides the next action and creates a task, reminder, or opportunity with an owner.
Is a due item the same as a recommendation?
Not always. A recommendation comes from a specific inspection or visit. A due item is derived from mileage and interval. The roadmap keeps both visible so the team can tell them apart.
